Description
Adjustable Spring Loaded Bayonet PT100 RTD Sensor (Model: APES-5×45) is a precision-engineered temperature sensor designed for plastic extrusion, injection molding, and polymer processing machinery where accurate surface temperature measurement depends on consistent contact pressure. Featuring a 200 mm threaded spring-loaded bayonet mechanism, the sensor automatically compensates for vibration, thermal expansion, and minor movement, ensuring stable contact between the sensing tip and the measurement point.
This sensor incorporates a Simplex PT100, 3-wire sensing element with Class A or Class B accuracy, providing precise and repeatable temperature measurement over a range of -50°C to +250°C. The SS316 stainless steel sensing probe is available in 4.7 mm or 6 mm diameters and is paired with a 200 mm adjustable threaded spring and a choice of single-slot (11.5 mm ID) or double-slot (12.5 mm ID) fixing caps to suit different machine mounting standards.
The Teflon insulated 2-meter cable offers excellent resistance to heat, abrasion, oils, and industrial environments, making the sensor suitable for continuous operation in demanding plastic processing applications. Aavad also offers customized spring lengths, probe dimensions, cable types, and termination options to meet OEM and replacement requirements.

FAQs
1. What is a Spring Loaded Bayonet PT100 Sensor?
A Spring Loaded Bayonet PT100 Sensor is a PT100 Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) that uses a spring-loaded bayonet mounting mechanism to maintain continuous contact between the sensing tip and the measurement point. It is commonly used in plastic processing machinery where vibration, thermal expansion, and machine movement can affect temperature measurement accuracy.
2. Why is a Spring-Loaded Bayonet Mechanism used?
The spring-loaded bayonet mechanism maintains constant pressure between the sensing tip and the heated surface, ensuring reliable thermal contact even when equipment expands, contracts, or vibrates during operation. This helps provide stable, accurate, and repeatable temperature measurements throughout the production process.
3. Where are Spring Loaded Bayonet PT100 Sensors commonly used?
Spring Loaded Bayonet PT100 Sensors are widely used in plastic extrusion machines, injection molding machines, hot runner systems, extruder barrels, nozzle heaters, polymer processing equipment, rubber processing machinery, and packaging machines where precise and reliable temperature control is essential.
