Automatic Change Over Panel (ATS / AMF Panel): Intelligent Power Transfer & Genset Control Systems
An Automatic Change Over Panel—also widely known as an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) or Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) Panel—manufactured by Aavad Instrument Pvt. Ltd. is an essential electrical control board designed to manage seamless power switching between utility mains and auxiliary backup sources (such as Diesel Generators or secondary mains feeds). Governed by an intelligent ATS controller executing embedded relay logic and software subroutines, the panel continuously monitors incoming voltage. Upon grid outage or phase loss, it initiates the standby generator’s start-stop sequence, isolates the failed source, and transfers emergency loads without requiring manual intervention.
WHY COMMERCIAL FACILITIES & INDUSTRIAL PLANTS RELY ON ATS/AMF PANELS:
Power interruptions in critical settings—such as hospitals, residential complexes, manufacturing units, and fire safety systems—can cause severe operational disruption and compromise life safety. Aavad Instrument Auto Change Over Panels eliminate human lag during outages by executing fast, automated switchovers. Furthermore, dual-mains changeover designs ensure continuous power to essential emergency infrastructure like firefighting lifts, while built-in time delays prevent back-feeding raw emergency power into unready grid lines.
Description
The Aavad Instrument Automatic Change Over Panel (ATS / AMF) delivers automated power transition and generator control across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. Operating across current capacities from 32A up to 3200A, these panels utilize motorized changeover switches or high-capacity Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs) to manage standby power. The panel’s primary function is governed by an integrated ATS controller that monitors primary power health and commands the start-stop sequence of connected diesel generators whenever a grid failure occurs.
Designed for high operational reliability, the panel incorporates programmed timing logic: an auto-delay initiation sequence prevents unnecessary genset starts during brief grid dips, while a 3-minute stop delay ensures generator cool-down after utility power is restored. For operator control, the front panel is equipped with an Auto/Manual selector, manual start/stop toggles, a prominent Emergency Stop switch, and a multi-step healthy start/stop switch control. If the generator fails to start, an integrated hooter-alarm annunciation system triggers instantly alongside an accessible fault-diagnostic checklist.
Engineered to meet Indian and international standards, each panel is housed in a rugged sheet steel enclosure designed to be dust-proof, vermin-proof, and corrosion-resistant. Aavad Instrument dual-mains changeover panels are also specialized for fire safety building regulations, providing automated dual-source power switching to keep firefighting lifts and emergency systems energized during mains power failures or building emergencies.
