Description
Butterfly Type Thermocouple Sensor (Model AJES) is a J Type simplex thermocouple designed for accurate surface temperature measurement on industrial machinery where conventional threaded, bayonet, or probe-type sensors are not suitable. It features a butterfly-style mounting bracket with two fixing holes that allow the sensor to be securely bolted or strapped onto flat machine surfaces for stable and repeatable temperature monitoring.
Unlike insertion thermocouples that measure temperatures inside a process, the Butterfly Type Thermocouple measures the temperature of the equipment surface. This mounting arrangement is particularly useful where drilling a sensor port is impractical or where direct contact with the machine surface provides the required process information.
The sensor uses a J Type thermocouple element suitable for temperatures from 0°C to 250°C, making it ideal for moderate-temperature industrial applications. The SS316 stainless steel construction provides durability and corrosion resistance, while the FG/FG/SS (Fiberglass insulated with Stainless Steel braided) cable offers protection against heat, abrasion, and mechanical wear in industrial environments.
Its compact butterfly bracket design enables easy installation on OEM machinery, heating plates, machine frames, industrial equipment, and custom-engineered systems requiring secure surface-mounted temperature sensing.

FAQs
1. What is a Butterfly Type Thermocouple Sensor?
A Butterfly Type Thermocouple Sensor is a surface-mounted temperature sensor that uses a butterfly-shaped mounting bracket with two mounting holes to securely attach to flat machine surfaces where threaded or bayonet mounting is not practical. It provides accurate and reliable surface temperature measurement in industrial applications.
2. Why is a Butterfly Mounting Bracket used?
A butterfly mounting bracket allows the sensor to be firmly bolted or strapped onto flat equipment surfaces without requiring a dedicated threaded sensor port. This simplifies installation, provides secure mechanical mounting, and ensures consistent contact with the measurement surface.
3. Where are Butterfly Type Thermocouple Sensors commonly used?
Butterfly Type Thermocouple Sensors are widely used on industrial machinery, heating plates, packaging equipment, food processing machinery, textile machines, plastic processing equipment, OEM systems, and other industrial applications requiring accurate surface temperature monitoring.
4. Why is a J-Type Thermocouple used in this Sensor?
J-Type thermocouples provide reliable, repeatable, and cost-effective temperature measurement in moderate-temperature applications. They are commonly selected for industrial machinery and process equipment operating within their recommended temperature range, delivering dependable performance for continuous temperature monitoring.
