Description
Rotating Bayonet K Type Thermocouple (Model AKES-5×35) is designed for accurate temperature measurement in plastic extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, and other industrial heating applications. The sensor features a 2-pin, 15.5 mm OD rotating bayonet holder that allows the cable to rotate independently after installation, making cable routing easier and reducing mechanical stress during installation and operation.
The thermocouple uses a Simplex K Type sensing element with an operating temperature range of 0°C to +600°C. Its SS316 welded sheath, 6 mm spring, and 2-pin bayonet cap with adapter provide secure installation and consistent contact pressure for reliable temperature measurement in heater barrels, nozzles, and process equipment.
The 3-meter stainless steel braided cable offers excellent protection against heat, abrasion, and mechanical damage, making the sensor suitable for demanding industrial environments. Aavad also manufactures customized bayonet thermocouples with different probe lengths, spring lengths, cable types, thermocouple configurations, and mounting options for OEM and replacement applications.
Key Features
-
$360^circ$ Rotating Bayonet Holder Independent rotating cap allows complete freedom of cable exit orientation after the bayonet is fully locked into its mounting adapter.
-
Standard 2-Pin 15.5mm OD Cap Standard Fits directly onto standard 2-pin bayonet adapters commonly found on imported and domestic plastic extrusion machinery.

FAQs
1. What is a Rotating Bayonet K-Type Thermocouple?
A Rotating Bayonet K-Type Thermocouple is an industrial temperature sensor that features a rotating bayonet holder, allowing the cable to be positioned independently after the bayonet is securely locked into place. This design provides accurate temperature measurement while offering greater installation flexibility in plastic processing and other industrial heating applications.
2. What is the advantage of a Rotating Bayonet Holder?
The rotating bayonet holder allows easier cable routing by enabling the cable to rotate independently of the sensor. This helps reduce cable twisting during installation, minimizes mechanical stress on the thermocouple, and improves cable life and installation convenience in machinery subject to vibration or frequent maintenance.
3. Why is a 2-Pin Bayonet Connection used?
A 2-pin bayonet connection provides a secure and reliable mechanical attachment while allowing quick installation and removal of the thermocouple. It is widely used on plastic extrusion machines, injection molding machines, hot runner systems, nozzle heaters, and other plastic processing equipment designed for this industry-standard mounting configuration.
