Description
Threaded Thermocouple (Model AKES-6×70) is a K-Type industrial temperature sensor designed for permanent installation in tanks, pipelines, pressure vessels, boilers, reactors, and process equipment. It features a fixed 1/2″ BSP(M) threaded process connection, providing secure, leak-resistant mounting for continuous temperature monitoring in demanding industrial environments.
Unlike bayonet-mounted thermocouples that are designed for quick removal, a threaded thermocouple is intended for installations where long-term mechanical stability and reliable sealing are required. The threaded connection allows the sensor to be firmly mounted directly into process equipment or installed inside a thermowell, enabling sensor replacement without exposing the process medium.
The sensor uses a K-Type thermocouple element capable of measuring temperatures from 0°C to 600°C with ±0.75% accuracy, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial heating and process control applications. Its SS316 stainless steel sheath provides excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, while the FG/FG/SS (Fiberglass insulated with Stainless Steel braided) cable offers protection against high temperatures, abrasion, and harsh operating conditions.
With a 70 mm insertion length below the thread, the sensor delivers stable and repeatable measurements while maintaining proper immersion into the process. The standard 3-meter cable simplifies installation, and custom cable lengths can be supplied to meet specific project requirements.

FAQs
1. What is a Threaded Thermocouple?
A Threaded Thermocouple is an industrial temperature sensor featuring a threaded process connection that enables secure installation into tanks, pipelines, reactors, pressure vessels, boilers, and other industrial equipment for continuous and reliable temperature monitoring.
2. Why is a Threaded Thermocouple preferred over a Bayonet Thermocouple?
A threaded thermocouple provides a fixed, leak-resistant installation that is ideal for permanent process applications. In contrast, a bayonet thermocouple is designed for applications requiring quick installation, easy removal, and frequent maintenance, such as plastic processing machinery.
3. What is the advantage of a 1/2″ BSP(M) Process Connection?
The 1/2″ BSP(M) process connection is a widely used industrial thread standard that provides secure mounting, reliable sealing performance, and compatibility with a wide range of process connections, fittings, and thermowells used across industrial applications.
4. Can a Threaded Thermocouple be used with a Thermowell?
Yes. Threaded thermocouples are commonly installed inside thermowells, allowing the sensor to be removed or replaced without opening the process, interrupting production, or exposing operators to pressurized, corrosive, or hazardous process media.
5. Where are Threaded Thermocouples commonly used?
Threaded Thermocouples are widely used in chemical plants, oil & gas facilities, power plants, boilers, storage tanks, pipelines, reactors, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food & beverage processing, water and wastewater treatment plants, and industrial process automation systems where permanent temperature measurement is required.
6. What is the difference between a Threaded Thermocouple and a Compression Fitting Thermocouple?
A threaded thermocouple has a fixed process connection with a predetermined insertion length for permanent installation. In comparison, a compression fitting thermocouple allows the insertion depth to be adjusted before tightening the fitting, making it suitable for applications where installation depth needs to be customized.
