Description
Flameproof N-Type Thermocouple is a premium industrial temperature sensor engineered for continuous extreme high-temperature measurement in hazardous industrial environments. Designed with an advanced N-Type (Nicrosil-Nisil) sensing element, this thermocouple delivers exceptional long-term stability, superior oxidation resistance, and minimal calibration drift, making it ideal for applications operating up to 1300°C.
Unlike conventional metal-sheathed thermocouples, this model incorporates a Ker-710 ceramic inner protection tube housed inside a robust SS310 outer protection sheath. The ceramic tube provides outstanding resistance to prolonged high-temperature exposure, thermal cycling, oxidation, and aggressive furnace atmospheres where metallic sheaths may experience accelerated degradation. This design is particularly suitable for continuous operation in furnaces, kilns, combustion systems, and metallurgical processes requiring reliable performance at the upper operating limits of Type N thermocouples.
The thermocouple features a heavy-duty SS310 outer sheath (30 × 20 mm OD/ID) with an 18 mm internal ceramic protection tube, providing excellent mechanical protection while maintaining high-temperature durability. A flameproof die-cast aluminium terminal head with IP67 protection ensures safe installation in hazardous and classified industrial locations while protecting electrical connections against dust and water ingress.
With a 1900 mm insertion length, this is one of the longest N-Type Thermocouples in the Aavad product range, making it ideal for deep furnaces, large kilns, reactors, boilers, and industrial equipment where long-reach temperature measurement is required.

FAQs
1. What is a Ceramic Protected N-Type Thermocouple?
A Ceramic Protected N-Type Thermocouple is a high-temperature sensor that uses a Ker-710 ceramic protection tube to shield the Nicrosil-Nisil sensing element from extreme heat, oxidation, thermal shock, and aggressive furnace atmospheres. It is designed for continuous temperature measurement in demanding industrial applications at temperatures up to 1300°C.
2. Why is ceramic protection used instead of a metal sheath?
Ceramic protection tubes provide superior resistance to prolonged exposure at extremely high temperatures, oxidation, and corrosive furnace atmospheres. While metal sheaths offer greater mechanical strength and impact resistance, ceramic protection delivers better thermal stability, improved resistance to chemical attack, and a longer service life in many continuous high-temperature industrial processes.
3. Where are Ceramic Protected Flameproof N-Type Thermocouples used?
Ceramic Protected Flameproof N-Type Thermocouples are widely used in industrial furnaces, kilns, power plants, petrochemical facilities, chemical processing plants, heat treatment systems, metallurgical industries, aerospace testing, glass manufacturing, ceramic production, and hazardous-area process applications where accurate and reliable high-temperature measurement is essential.
