Description
J-Type Rotating Bayonet Thermocouple (Model AJES-5×25) is designed for accurate temperature measurement in plastic extrusion, injection molding, packaging, and thermoforming equipment where compact installation space and reliable cable routing are required. Its 25 mm SS316 sensing tip is suitable for shallow mounting locations, while the 2-pin rotating bayonet holder (15.5 mm OD) allows the cable to rotate freely after installation, reducing twisting and simplifying cable orientation.
The sensor features a Simplex J-Type (Iron-Constantan) thermocouple with an operating temperature range of 0°C to +450°C. A 6 mm spring maintains consistent contact pressure, and the stainless steel braided cable provides protection against heat, abrasion, and mechanical stress in demanding industrial environments.
Available in simplex or duplex configurations, the thermocouple can also be customized with different probe lengths, cable lengths, spring dimensions, and connector options for OEM machinery and replacement applications.
Key Features
-
Ultra-Short 25mm Tip Profile The shortest probe length in Aavad’s 2-pin bayonet lineup, ideal for shallow drilled holes in thin extrusion dies and narrow platen plates.
-
$360^circ$ Rotating Bayonet Holder Allows full rotational freedom for the lead wire exit direction after the 2-pin cap is locked onto its mounting adapter.
-
Standard 2-Pin 15.5mm OD Cap Standard Fits standard 2-pin Asian/Chinese-standard bayonet adapters widely used across imported plastics machinery.
-
Type J (Iron-Constantan) Sensing Element Provides high EMF output and excellent measurement stability in vacuum and reducing atmospheres up to 450°C.
-
6mm OD Compression Spring Seating Continuous spring loaded force guarantees tight tip-to-metal thermal contact, preventing thermal lag and false low readings.
-
3-Meter Armored Stainless Steel Braided Cable Rugged outer metal braid guards internal lead insulation against mechanical cuts, pinching, and ambient heat exposure.

FAQs
1. What is a J-Type Rotating Bayonet Thermocouple?
A J-Type Rotating Bayonet Thermocouple is an industrial temperature sensor that combines a J-Type thermocouple element with a rotating bayonet mounting system. The rotating bayonet allows flexible cable positioning after installation, ensuring accurate temperature measurement while simplifying cable routing in industrial heating equipment.
2. Why is a Rotating Bayonet Holder used?
The rotating bayonet holder allows the cable to be positioned in the desired direction after the bayonet is securely locked into place. This helps reduce cable twisting, minimizes mechanical stress on the thermocouple, improves cable life, and makes installation and maintenance easier in industrial machinery.
3. What is the advantage of a J-Type Thermocouple?
J-Type thermocouples are widely used for moderate-temperature industrial applications because they provide fast response, reliable performance, and good measurement accuracy within their operating range. They are well suited for plastic processing equipment, industrial heaters, packaging machinery, and other process heating applications where their temperature characteristics meet process requirements.
4. Where is this Thermocouple commonly used?
J-Type Rotating Bayonet Thermocouples are commonly used in plastic extrusion machines, injection molding machines, packaging equipment, thermoforming machines, hot runner systems, extruder barrels, nozzle heaters, polymer processing equipment, and other industrial heating applications requiring reliable temperature monitoring.
