Description
Plastic Extruder Thermocouple (Model AKES-6×85) is a K-Type bayonet thermocouple designed for plastic extrusion, injection molding, and other industrial heating applications where flexible cable routing and reliable temperature measurement are essential. Its defining feature is the rotating bayonet assembly, which allows the cable to be positioned in the required direction after the bayonet has been locked into place.
Unlike fixed bayonet thermocouples, where the cable exits at the angle determined by the locking position, the rotating housing enables installers to orient the cable independently. This helps reduce cable strain, simplifies installation in confined spaces, and supports cleaner cable routing around heaters, guards, and machine components.
The thermocouple features a simplex K-Type sensing element with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 600°C. Its 6 mm OD SS316 stainless steel sheath provides excellent durability and corrosion resistance, while the 85 mm insertion tip is suitable for deeper barrel, heater band, and hot runner installations. The FG/FG/SS (fiberglass insulated with stainless steel braided) cable offers protection against heat, abrasion, and vibration in demanding industrial environments.

FAQs
1. What is a Plastic Extruder Thermocouple?
A Plastic Extruder Thermocouple is an industrial temperature sensor designed to monitor the temperature of barrels, nozzles, dies, heaters, and melt zones in plastic extrusion and injection molding machines. Accurate temperature measurement helps maintain consistent product quality, improve process efficiency, and prevent overheating during plastic processing.
2. Why is a Spring-Loaded Bayonet important?
The spring-loaded bayonet mechanism maintains continuous pressure between the sensing tip and the measurement surface. This ensures excellent thermal contact despite vibration, machine movement, or thermal expansion, resulting in faster response and more accurate temperature measurement.
3. What temperature range does this Plastic Extruder Thermocouple support?
This Plastic Extruder Thermocouple operates over a temperature range of 0°C to +600°C, making it suitable for plastic extrusion, injection molding, packaging machinery, industrial heaters, and other medium-temperature industrial applications.
4. Where are Plastic Extruder Thermocouples commonly used?
Plastic Extruder Thermocouples are widely used in plastic extrusion machines, injection molding machines, blow molding equipment, packaging machinery, rubber processing plants, cable manufacturing, polymer processing, OEM machinery, and industrial heating systems where accurate process temperature control is essential.
