An Array Junction Box (AJB)—commonly known as a DC Distribution Box (DCDB)—by Aavad Instrument Pvt. Ltd. is an essential solar power enclosure engineered to consolidate, combine, and control multiple Direct Current (DC) power feeds originating from solar PV module strings. Positioned between the solar photovoltaic array and the central inverter, the AJB/DCDB aggregates individual DC inputs into streamlined single or multi-channel DC output lines while incorporating critical protection devices such as DC string fuses, Surge Protection Devices (SPDs), and DC isolators.

In utility-scale solar farms and commercial rooftop solar installations, DC power generated by PV modules must be safely combined, distributed, and protected before reaching the solar inverter. Description
The Aavad Instrument Array Junction Box (AJB / DCDB) provides robust DC power collection, string protection, and surge isolation engineered specifically for solar photovoltaic installations. Built to handle operating voltages ranging from 600V DC up to 1500V DC, this enclosure safely combines multiple solar PV string inputs into centralized DC output lines connected to solar inverters. Each unit can be customized according to project requirements, supporting different string input configurations from 2-string rooftop solar systems to 24-string utility-scale combinations.
Internally, each AJB incorporates high-voltage gPV DC string fuses designed to protect individual solar PV strings against overcurrent and reverse-current faults. To protect connected inverters and downstream equipment from lightning-induced surges and transient voltage spikes, the box is equipped with heavy-duty Class II / Type 2 DC Surge Protection Devices (SPDs).
