    Description

Bearing Temperature Detector (Model APES) is a precision PT100 RTD sensor designed for continuous temperature monitoring of industrial bearings. It is engineered for direct installation into bearing housings using a 1/8″ BSP(M) threaded process connection, providing accurate and repeatable temperature measurement for rotating equipment operating in demanding industrial environments.

Bearing temperature is one of the most effective indicators of machine health. A gradual increase in bearing temperature often signals lubrication failure, excessive friction, shaft misalignment, overloading, or bearing wear before catastrophic failure occurs. Continuous monitoring allows maintenance teams to identify developing problems early, helping reduce unexpected downtime, extend equipment life, and support predictive maintenance programs.

This model features a 5 mm OD SS316 stainless steel sheath, an 80 mm sensing tip, and a PT100 simplex 3-wire sensing element with Class B accuracy. The 3-wire RTD configuration helps reduce lead wire resistance errors compared to a 2-wire design, improving measurement accuracy over longer cable runs. The sensor operates across a temperature range of -50°C to 400°C, making it suitable for a wide variety of industrial applications.

The detector is supplied with a TF/TF/SS (Teflon insulated with stainless steel braided) cable, providing excellent resistance to heat, abrasion, vibration, moisture, oils, and many industrial chemicals. The rugged construction makes it suitable for continuous operation in demanding environments where reliability is essential.

The Bearing Temperature Detector is widely used for monitoring electric motor bearings, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, rolling mills, turbines, generators, fans, crushers, cement plant equipment, steel processing machinery, wind turbines, and railway axle-box bearing systems. By continuously monitoring bearing temperature, maintenance teams can detect abnormal operating conditions before they develop into costly equipment failures.
