    Description

    The Aavad Instrument Model AMAG-R Borewell Digital Water Meter is designed specifically to solve this installation challenge. The system combines a high-accuracy electromagnetic flow meter with a remote-mounted 16 × 4 LCD display connected through a 5-meter cable, allowing operators to monitor flow data from a convenient location while the sensing unit remains installed near the borewell discharge line.

    Borewell installations often present a practical challenge for flow measurement. In many systems, the flow meter is installed on the submersible pump discharge pipeline, inside a pump house, underground chamber, or below-ground pit where it is difficult to access for routine monitoring. Reading the totalized flow or instantaneous flow rate directly from the transmitter can therefore become inconvenient, especially for operators responsible for daily water consumption records.

    Operating on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction, the AMAG-R measures the flow of electrically conductive liquids without moving parts, ensuring reliable performance with minimal maintenance. The meter offers ±0.5% of reading accuracy, a PTFE-lined measuring tube, SS316L electrodes, and a corrosion-resistant stainless steel flanged connection, making it suitable for borewell water that may contain dissolved minerals.

    Available in sizes from 15 mm to 250 mm, the meter should be selected based on the expected flow rate of the submersible pump rather than pipe diameter alone. Proper sizing helps maintain measurement accuracy across the operating range and supports effective water auditing, groundwater management, pump performance evaluation, and utility monitoring.

    The digital transmitter supports 4–20 mA, pulse output, and RS485 (Modbus RTU) communication for integration with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation platforms. Each instrument is supplied with a NABL-accredited calibration certificate to provide traceable measurement confidence.
