Description
The Clamp-On Surface Temperature Sensor is a non-invasive K-Type thermocouple designed for accurate measurement of pipe, tube, vessel, and equipment surface temperatures without drilling, welding, or modifying the process. Equipped with a durable stainless steel worm-gear clamp, the sensor securely mounts around 1-inch pipes to provide reliable thermal contact while allowing quick installation, adjustment, and removal. This makes it ideal for applications where maintaining process integrity and avoiding downtime are essential.
Built with a K-Type (Chromel-Alumel) thermocouple element, an SS316 stainless steel sensing assembly, and a high-temperature FG/FG/SS insulated cable, the sensor operates at temperatures up to 600°C. Its clamp-on design eliminates the need for threaded connections or welded fittings, enabling safe temperature monitoring on pressurized pipelines, steam lines, heat exchangers, and industrial equipment without interrupting production or creating leak paths.

Datasheet
1. What is a Clamp-On Surface Temperature Sensor?
A Clamp-On Surface Temperature Sensor is a non-invasive temperature sensor designed to measure the surface temperature of pipes, vessels, and industrial equipment using a mechanical clamp instead of penetrating the process. It provides accurate and reliable surface temperature monitoring without interrupting system operation.
2. How does a Clamp-On Temperature Sensor work?
The sensor is secured to the outside surface of a pipe, vessel, or other equipment using a stainless steel clamp. The sensing element measures the surface temperature without coming into direct contact with the process fluid, enabling safe and convenient temperature monitoring.
3. Is a Clamp-On Sensor suitable for High-Pressure Pipelines?
Yes. Because the sensor is mounted externally, it does not penetrate the pressure boundary, making it ideal for monitoring high-pressure, hazardous, or difficult-to-access process lines while maintaining system integrity and safety.
4. Do you also manufacture other Surface Temperature Sensors?
Yes. Aavad manufactures a wide range of surface temperature sensors, including Weld Pad Thermocouples, Leaf Type Surface Thermocouples, RTD Washer Sensors, and other contact temperature sensors for reliable industrial surface temperature monitoring.
