Description

  • Platinum thermocouples (Type R) have one wire made from pure platinum and the other wire made from a platinum-rhodium alloy with 13% rhodium. Their quoted measuring range is 0°C to +1600°C, with a measurement sensitivity of 10 μV/°C and quoted inaccuracy of ±0.5%.

Key Features

  • High-temperature measurement capability up to 1600°C

  • Excellent accuracy with ±0.5% quoted inaccuracy

  • Measurement sensitivity of 10 μV/°C

  • Platinum and platinum–rhodium construction ensures high stability

  • Superior resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures

  • Long service life in harsh, high-temperature environments

Applications

  • Glass melting furnaces and crown temperature monitoring

  • Metallurgy, steel, and foundry high-temperature processes

  • Ceramic kilns and refractory manufacturing

  • Petrochemical reactors and high-temp processing

  • Aerospace, engine research, and laboratory testing

  • Calibration and reference-grade temperature measurements
