    Description

The Bar Stock Thermowell is a precision-machined protective fitting designed to safeguard RTDs, Pt100 sensors, thermocouples, and other industrial temperature sensors from high-pressure, corrosive, and high-temperature process conditions. Unlike fabricated thermowells that are assembled using welded components, a bar stock thermowell is manufactured from a single solid stainless steel bar, providing superior mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, and long-term reliability in demanding industrial applications.

The Aavad Instrument Bar Stock Thermowell is manufactured from SS316L stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance and durability in chemical processing, oil & gas, power generation, water treatment, and other industrial environments. It features an M33×2 metric threaded process connection, making it particularly suitable for European-standard process equipment, OEM machinery, packaged skids, and industrial systems where metric threads are specified instead of BSP or NPT connections.

This thermowell incorporates a tapered stem profile, reducing the outside diameter from 28 mm to 24 mm while maintaining an 8 mm bore for sensor installation. The tapered design improves the strength-to-weight balance of the thermowell and helps reduce the effects of flow-induced vibration in suitable operating conditions. Its standard 150 mm U-length, with custom lengths available up to 600 mm, provides installation flexibility across a wide range of industrial processes.

The threaded installation allows quick mounting and convenient maintenance while protecting the temperature sensor from direct contact with the process medium. This enables sensor replacement or calibration without exposing the sensing element to harsh operating conditions, helping reduce maintenance time and improve overall plant reliability.
