Description
MI Thermocouple is a premium Mineral Insulated (MI) Duplex K-Type Thermocouple designed for reliable temperature measurement in demanding industrial environments where long insertion lengths, flexible routing, and high measurement reliability are required. With an impressive 2650 mm insertion length, this thermocouple is ideal for deep process vessels, furnaces, boilers, reactors, turbines, exhaust systems, and applications where conventional rigid sensors cannot be easily installed.
The thermocouple utilizes Mineral Insulated (MI) technology, where the thermoelectric conductors are enclosed within an SS316 stainless steel sheath and surrounded by highly compacted magnesium oxide (MgO) insulation. This construction provides outstanding mechanical strength, excellent electrical insulation, rapid heat transfer, and superior resistance to vibration, pressure, and harsh industrial environments.
One of the key advantages of this MI thermocouple is its fully annealed flexible sheath, which allows the sensor to be carefully bent into custom shapes with a minimum bend radius of approximately twice the sheath diameter. This enables easy installation around structural obstacles, through narrow passages, and into difficult-to-access temperature measurement locations without compromising sensor performance.
The duplex K-Type construction incorporates two independent sensing elements within a single probe. This allows simultaneous temperature monitoring, redundant measurements for enhanced process safety, or connection to separate control and monitoring systems from one installation point, minimizing process penetrations and reducing installation costs.
