    Description

    A Platinum Thermocouple is a high-temperature sensor that uses platinum and platinum-rhodium alloys to provide stable, accurate temperature measurement in demanding industrial environments. These thermocouples are commonly selected for applications where base-metal thermocouples cannot provide the required long-term stability, oxidation resistance, or measurement reliability.

    The Aavad Instrument Model ASFS Platinum Thermocouple is a compact Type S ceramic tube thermocouple designed for continuous temperature measurement up to 1400°C. Its Platinum-10% Rhodium / Platinum (Pt10%Rh/Pt) sensing element delivers dependable performance in oxidizing and inert atmospheres, making it suitable for high-temperature industrial processes requiring reliable long-term operation.

    Unlike longer furnace thermocouples intended for deep insertion, this model features a compact 600 mm overall length below the terminal head, making it ideal for installations where space is limited or shorter insertion depths are sufficient. The sensing element is protected by a 450 mm high-purity ceramic protection tube, while a 25 mm SS310 holding tube provides mechanical support outside the hot zone.

    A distinguishing feature of this model is its flameproof die-cast aluminium terminal head with IP67 protection, allowing installation in hazardous industrial environments where a standard weatherproof enclosure may not be appropriate. This combination of compact construction and flameproof protection makes it well suited for demanding process areas in the glass, steel, petrochemical, and process industries.
