Description
PTFE Coated Thermocouple is a high-performance K-Type temperature sensor specifically designed for highly corrosive chemical environments where conventional stainless steel thermocouples are prone to rapid deterioration. Featuring a premium SS316/SS316L stainless steel sheath with a Teflon (PTFE) coating, this thermocouple provides exceptional resistance against acids, alkalis, chemical solutions, and aggressive process media while delivering reliable temperature measurement up to 250°C.
In many industrial processes such as electroplating, pickling, chemical treatment, and acid bath operations, even corrosion-resistant stainless steel can degrade over time when exposed to concentrated chemicals. The PTFE coating forms a chemically inert protective barrier around the sheath, preventing direct contact between corrosive fluids and the stainless steel while significantly extending sensor life and maintaining measurement accuracy.
The thermocouple incorporates a K-Type (Chromel-Alumel) sensing element with compacted magnesium oxide (MgO) insulation, ensuring fast thermal response, electrical insulation, and dependable temperature measurement. A spring-loaded nickel-plated ceramic terminal block maintains secure electrical contact even in environments subject to vibration or mechanical movement.
This model is supplied with a durable IP65-rated terminal head, while stainless steel terminal heads are available upon request for applications requiring enhanced mechanical durability or hygienic construction. Angle-type assemblies can also be customized for tanks, reactors, and process pipelines where straight insertion is impractical.
