Description
Thermocouple Sensor is a rugged K-Type industrial temperature sensor designed for accurate and dependable temperature measurement in demanding industrial environments. Using a Chromel-Alumel (K-Type) sensing element, the sensor measures temperatures from 0°C to 850°C, making it suitable for furnaces, kilns, boilers, heat treatment systems, power plants, petrochemical facilities, and process automation.
This model features a 1500 mm insertion length, providing an ideal balance between compact thermocouples and extra-long furnace sensors. It is particularly suitable for medium-depth industrial equipment where reliable process temperature measurement is required without the need for custom extra-long probes.
A key advantage of the AKIS-10 is its SS310 stainless steel protection sheath, which offers superior resistance to oxidation and scaling during prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures. Compared with SS316, SS310 is better suited for continuous furnace and kiln applications, helping extend sensor life under sustained high-temperature operation.
For hazardous industrial installations, the sensor incorporates a robust flameproof die-cast aluminium terminal head with an IP67 protection rating, protecting electrical connections from dust, moisture, and harsh industrial environments. An adjustable 1/2″ BSP process connection allows flexible insertion depth to optimize sensing performance in different process conditions.
Manufactured by Aavad Instrument Pvt. Ltd., the AKIS-10 Thermocouple Sensor is engineered for long service life, fast thermal response, and dependable measurement accuracy. Custom configurations, including different insertion lengths, sheath diameters, process connections, and thermocouple types, are available to meet specific application requirements. NABL-traceable calibration services are also available where documented measurement confidence is required.

FAQs
1. What is a Thermocouple Sensor?
A Thermocouple Sensor is a temperature-measuring device consisting of two dissimilar metal conductors joined together at one end. The temperature difference between the sensing junction and the reference junction generates a small electrical voltage based on the Seebeck effect, enabling accurate, fast, and reliable temperature measurement in industrial processes.
2. Why is SS310 used for high-temperature thermocouples?
SS310 stainless steel offers superior resistance to oxidation, scaling, and high-temperature corrosion compared to SS316 during continuous exposure to elevated temperatures. These properties make it an excellent sheath material for thermocouples used in industrial furnaces, kilns, heat treatment equipment, boilers, and other high-temperature process applications.
3. Where are Thermocouple Sensors used?
Thermocouple Sensors are widely used in industrial furnaces, boilers, heat treatment plants, petrochemical industries, power stations, chemical processing plants, food and beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, automotive testing, steel and cement industries, and industrial automation systems for continuous process temperature monitoring and control.
