Description
Fluidized Bed Thermocouple is a specialized duplex K-Type temperature sensor designed for accurate temperature measurement in fluidized bed boilers, reactors, dryers, and combustion systems where abrasive particles continuously impact the sensing assembly. Unlike conventional thermocouples, this model incorporates a dual-diameter construction that protects the sensing element from severe mechanical wear while maintaining reliable temperature measurement.
The thermocouple consists of an 8 mm duplex Inconel 600 sensing insert housed inside a robust 22 mm outer protection tube. The outer tube absorbs continuous abrasion from circulating sand, catalyst particles, ash, or other process media, while the protected sensing insert remains isolated from direct particle impact. This design significantly extends sensor service life in fluidized bed applications where standard sheathed thermocouples may experience rapid wear.
The duplex K-Type sensing configuration provides two independent temperature measurement circuits within a single assembly. If one sensing element reaches the end of its service life, the second element can continue monitoring while maintenance is scheduled, reducing process interruptions and improving plant availability.
The Inconel 600 sensing insert offers excellent resistance to oxidation and thermal fatigue at elevated temperatures, making it suitable for demanding combustion and process heating environments. The compact 450 mm insertion length is optimized for typical fluidized bed depths, ensuring accurate measurement within the active process zone without unnecessary overhang.
For hazardous industrial environments, the thermocouple is equipped with a flameproof die-cast aluminium terminal head with IP67 protection and double cable entry, ensuring reliable performance in areas exposed to dust, moisture, vibration, and potentially explosive atmospheres.
