Description
Mineral Insulated Thermocouple is a high-performance K-Type flameproof temperature sensor designed for accurate temperature measurement in demanding industrial and hazardous environments. Manufactured using mineral insulated (MI) construction, the sensing element is surrounded by high-purity compacted magnesium oxide (MgO) inside a durable SS310 stainless steel sheath, providing excellent electrical insulation, mechanical strength, and fast thermal response.
Unlike conventional wire-insulated thermocouples, Mineral Insulated Thermocouples combine flexibility with superior protection against vibration, contamination, oxidation, and mechanical damage. The compacted MgO insulation allows the thermocouple to be carefully routed through complex installations while maintaining dependable measurement accuracy and long operational life.
The AKFS-10 features a simplex K-Type sensing element capable of measuring temperatures from 0°C to 850°C. Its SS310 protection sheath offers enhanced resistance to oxidation and scaling, making it particularly suitable for continuous furnace duty, boilers, reactors, kilns, and high-temperature industrial processes.
For hazardous industrial locations, the thermocouple is equipped with a rugged flameproof die-cast aluminium terminal head with an IP67 protection rating, ensuring safe operation in environments where explosive gases or dust may be present. The 1800 mm insertion length provides an ideal balance between installation flexibility and deep process temperature measurement.
